Two weeks ago I watched a 3D screening of Disney’s ZOOTOPIA which comes out this Friday, March 4th. I went with my mom and we got good seats.
Zootopia is a city where animals live together. Here no matter what you are you can be anything. The main characters are Judy Hopps, a rabbit, and Nick Wilde, a fox. Judy is my favorite character because she followed her dreams and became a cop! The thing I like about Nick is that he knew everyone and is pretty smart.
Judy’s parents DID NOT want Judy to be a police officer and were happy when Judy got stuck with parking duty because it was a safe job. And Judy’s little sheep friend Bellwether, I didn’t like her because… well, you’ll find out.
My favorite part of the movie was when the sloth at the DMV took a few hours to type in a license plate number. So funny. My least favorite part was when a savage animal jumped at the screen. Since it was 3D everybody jumped from their seat (but it wasn’t scary).
I won’t tell you the end because you should go watch the movie. It has a nice message about not giving up and being brave, like Judy was. Also, teamwork and friendship. Judy and Nick didn’t like each other at first but became good friends and worked together to save Zootopia. The movie also shows that it’s important not to judge people (or animals). Foxes aren’t always sneaky and bunnies aren’t dumb or slow.
Zootopia is rated PG but I would recommend this movie for everyone 7 and up. I think some little people might not understand it, like there was a baby in the row behind me crying the whole time!
4 1/2 pixies. It isn’t the best movie ever, but I still liked it a lot. I would go watch it again. I think there will be a sequel.
So that’s my review of Zootopia. Do you plan on going to go see it this weekend? Don’t forget to download Zootopia coloring pages and activity sheets here. Have fun!
*I went to a free screening of the movie thanks to Disney.
Loooove this post! I love seeing movies before they come out, except when there’s a crying baby behind you 😛
Great job for your first post. I can’t wait to read more. I really want to see the movie, but I think it may have to wait until it comes out on DVD.
What a great review, Maura. It sounds like you really liked Zootopia. Hopefully my family will get to see it soon. 🙂
Great review! You’ve made me want to take my two boys to see it even more now I know there is such a wonderful message! Thanks for sharing your age suggestion-very helpful!
